Meets monthly and has a varied programme which aims to balance fellowship, study, prayer, local outreach and overseas mission. They coordinate the Welcome Packages which are distributed to new members of the community who come on Gypsy Day (June 1st). The packages include gifts of food as well as information about local community life.
Bible in Schools
We are blessed to be living in an area that has 3 primary schools (Waikaka, Otama & Knapdale) that are willing for the bible to be opened and shared with all the students that attend those respective schools and being part of the half hour session each week.
We are also blessed with a dedicated group of teachers (members of our congregation and other surrounding churches) who give freely of their time and talents, preparing lessons and sharing God's Truths in front of the classrooms each week.
This ministry is prehaps one of the biggest outreaches we have in our community on a regular basis where the gospel is shared freely and taken into homes within our community.
Both local and overseas missions are an important focus for many in the parish. Many are supporters of the Waidale Missionary Trust which is a large livestock trading scheme that supports over 40 New Zealand and overseas mission organisations through finance and prayer. Each quarter as a church, we have a 'Mission Focus' service where we have updates from the missionaries the church supports, a time of prayer for them and a designated collection to help support them financially.
